Microcartographies is a series of drawings mapping real and imagined punctuation marks with a calligraphy pen. They are an attempt to make visible the silent or implied structures that exist within our daily speech. I investigate the arbitrariness, possibility, and ever-changing meanings of these graphic marks through repetition, proximity, and scale. I draw to see how they interact when set close together and examine what visual densities and pathways emerge.
